Kaiyo SOMA
The design of the ground floor space at the Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco is meant to immerse you into the cultural niche of Nikkei cuisine. Combining a refined material palette of vibrant colors and textiles from Peruvian culture with neutral Japanese woods, we create an atmosphere that reflects Kaiyo's unique identity. Towards the back of the restaurant we transition into a contrasting aesthetic for the private dining room - this space expresses a modern take on the Japanese geisha room with moody lighting, red walls, mural art, and laser-cut wood fans.
